Luxair has announced an order for Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, including delivery positions.

Behind The Scenes Of The Order

The deal includes precisely four firm units. However, should Luxair wish to activate options, they have five more. This brings the ultimate agreement to 9 aircraft.

Specific options for Luxair can be broken up into two options and three purchase rights, bringing the total to five.

Signed at the ERA General Assembly, the pair noted that the aircraft is the most efficient regional aircraft in the signal aisle segment and can easily complement existing narrowbody types.

Due to this new agreement, Luxair expects delivery of its first E195-E2 in Q4 of 2025.

We continue to develop our airline and secure its long term future. These cutting edge aircraft are additional proof of our commitment to sustainability and passenger comfort. The E195-E2 has both the lowest noise and fuel burn in the regional aircraft market and will provide needed flexibility in our network. Our passengers will benefit from the spacious and quiet cabin and big overhead hand-luggage bins. The E195-E2 is a great fit for Luxair and our passengers.

The Birth And Growth Of Luxair

Since the conception of Luxair in 1961, the airline has been hugely important to the people, not just Luxembourg but also the surrounding regions.

The carrier prides itself on fast air services toward the most significant European cities. Its focus doesn’t sit on one demographic with the belief that business and leisure travellers can benefit from their operations.

Examining The Current Luxair Fleet

Luxair operates a fleet of 23 in-service aircraft spread across multiple aircraft types.

Notably, away from the Dash 8-400s, its most pivotal engine-powered aircraft sits in the 737 family. This is where four 737-700s, four 737-800s, and two 737-8s, part of the MAX family, are present.

Moreover, the airline also has orders for the 737-7 and further 737-8s as part of its move towards more efficient aircraft types.
