STARLUX To Launch Flights To Seattle

STARLUX has announced that Seattle will become its third U.S. city served in August with thrice-weekly flights using the A350-900.

Taiwan-based airline STARLUX has announced plans to expand its network in the United States with the upcoming launch of a new service.

STARLUX says that from August 16, 2024, the airline will deploy a nonstop flight from Seattle to Taipei, with bookings now available for customers and thrice weekly flights offered.

The Airbus A350 has been selected for the newly announced service, which features four cabin classes.

The Airbus A350 offers first-class, business-class, premium economy, and economy seating options, enabling passengers to have several seating options for this lengthy trek.

STARLUX will, however, face considerable competition on the route, which it’ll need to remain wary of. While being a new airline has advantages, it also has disadvantages, and with time, it’ll look to cement itself as a critical choice in the segment.

Alaska Airlines released a statement welcoming the arrival of STARLUX to Seattle. The pair already had a relationship signed in April 2023. As part of this signing, STARLUX became a global partner for Alaska, one of many.

STARLUX Announces Schedule

The Taiwan-based airline says that the flight has been designated the JX21/22 flight number, with departure from Taipei at 2000 and arrival in Seattle on the same day, 1615, as JX22.

Meanwhile, the return flight is expected to depart Seattle at 0210 and return to Taiwan at 0510. The return flight will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays instead of Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of the flight to Seattle.

Comments From STARLUX

STARLUX’s broadened trans-Pacific routes reaffirm our dedication to expanding our U.S. network and to elevating the travel experience for our fast-growing customer base. As a key economic and technological hub, Seattle is also steeped in diverse cultural influences and home to a thriving Asian community. Moreover, we have finally arrived at the hub of our partner Alaska Airlines. We believe STARLUX and Alaska Airlines will provide seamless service to travelers seeking to reach Asia. STARLUX looks forward to strengthening our connections between these major West Coast cities with Taipei and larger Asia, and to building bridges between these dynamic and vibrant regions.

A U.S Expansion

North America has been hot on STARLUX’s radar for a considerable period. The only limitation is the aircraft available for the relatively new airline to the aviation industry.

Following new aircraft orders and subsequent deliveries, further units from the A350 have made expansion to new cities possible.

Once launched, the flight to Seattle will complement service to Los Angeles and San Fransisco, which both began in 2023.

STARLUX has its sights set on further destinations in North America, whether this includes cities in the United States or Canada. However, similar to this expansion, future cities will come in due course, requiring more aircraft first.
