StarLux Begins Flying To Los Angeles

Taiwanese Starlux has officially launched services to the United States with the debut of its Los Angeles flight.

The route is operated by one of their Airbus A350s and has long been in the making by the operator. Starlux signalled its intent to fly to Hollywood many years ago. However, it is only now, in 2023, able to launch such a service.

Starlux has bigger ambitions than just flying to Los Angeles. San Francisco is expected to also debut by year’s end. However, Starlux wants to continue adding destinations in the coming year.

While their ambitions are big, they’re already facing roadblocks. The airline recently emerged, explaining how delays in acquiring Airbus A350s will prevent them from launching in New York when initially intended. Additionally, any other routes to the United States may need a revised commencement date because of delays.

Starlux’s Airbus A350 comes equipped with 306 seats and will initially fly five times weekly. However, this will increase daily as per the airline by June. Just in time for the busy summer schedule as Starlux looks to maximise demand.

Per Cirium, Starlux currently has 20 aircraft in service. 3 of those are Airbus A350s, 13 are part of the A321neo family and lastly there are 4 A330neos. In the future, the airline will grow its A350 fleet considerably, making routes to Australia and more in North America possible.
