United Airlines has announced plans to offer more flights to Florida than ever this winter.
Florida To See Big Amounts Of Growth
The U.S.-based carrier is slated to grow its schedule by almost 20% this winter. It will do so by adding more flights to key markets such as Miami, Tampa and Orlando.
United Airlines says it’ll grow capacity by deploying larger planes in these markets.
Chicago O’Hare, Washington Dulles, Houston and Newark will all see several increases in flying to meet growing demand.
United adds that these airports will also see a historic increase as mainline aircraft fly to Florida. As a result, seats are slated to double.
Booking and search data show that Miami and Orlando are among United Airlines’ top five most-searched domestic travel destinations.
Because of booming demand, United Airlines believes adding service will better serve its customers.
The Specifics Around United’s Florida Expansion
United Airlines says that from November 28, it’ll deploy a 737-700 towards Key West International Airport. Nonstop routes include Newark, Washington Dulles, Houston and Chicago O’Hare.
Meanwhile, Northeastern Ohioans will have better access to Florida than ever before, thanks to service out of Cleveland Hopkins.
Cleveland will see daily flights to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, and Orlando increase from one to two.
The airline will also reintroduce daily nonstop service to Tampa, utilising their ever-reliable and popular 737-900ER.
The Airbus A321neo’s Importance
Since taking delivery of its first Airbus A321neo a matter of weeks ago, United Airlines has announced it’ll deploy it on key Florida routes.
Specifically, beginning in December, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Fort Myers will all welcome the Airbus A321neo.
United already sees the A321neo as important for future operations and has announced plans to acquire 60 additional units from 2028 onward.
Ski Destinations Also Slated To Feature
Beyond warm-weather getaways to Florida, United Airlines plans to expand its presence at key ski destinations.
The airline already serves 11 ski stations from hubs across the country. However, it wants to build upon this significantly.
The airline will add more nonstop flights from Newark/New York to Jackson Hole, WY; Eagle/Vail, CO; Hayden/Steamboat, CO; Montrose/Telluride, CO; and Bozeman/Big Sky, MT, as well as more flights to Steamboat and Montrose/Telluride.
