Porter Airlines has announced plans to expand its offering towards the West from 2024 onwards.

Expanding service is part of Porter’s continued commitment to growing and offering customers more services to destinations, providing further choice and competition.

Porter Adds Ottawa To Calgary

From February 14, 2024, Porter Airlines will grow its presence in the Western part of Canada by adding an Ottawa to Calgary connection.

The route will be operated by its new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft and thus add another connection towards the West of Canada.

Calgary will join the likes of Vancouver and Edmonton, where Porter serves.

The flight will operate daily and depart Ottawa at 6:20 p.m. before arriving at 8:49 p.m. Porter says the aircraft will leave the following day at 8:50 a.m. before returning to Ottawa at 2:40 p.m.

Porter Airlines notes that introductory roundtrip fares at $459.

Comments From Key Executives

This route is another way for passengers to travel across Canada with Porter, including significant connecting flight options via Ottawa. Passengers can look forward to enjoying an elevated economy experience they won’t find anywhere else.

We’re excited to welcome Porter Airlines’ new non-stop flights connecting YOW and YYC. This route not only strengthens business ties, but also offers travellers easy access to the vibrant, culturally rich destinations of Ottawa-Gatineau, and Calgary and the Rockies, two destinations people eagerly seek to explore and engage in business activities.

The Porter Airlines Fleet

Porter Airlines has a fleet of 50 in-service aircraft spread across Embraer units and the Dash 8.

Notably, its fleet of Embraer E195-E2s is continuously growing, with the airline already operating 21 of this type.

The E195-E2 has been pivotal for the carrier in expanding services, adding the likes of Los Angeles and San Francisco to its route network.

Away from Embraer-powered planes, it does fly 29 of the Dash 8 Q400s as a commitment to more regional flying.

About Porter Airlines

Critical locations for Porter include Ottawa and both Toronto-based airports. However, Montreal-Trudeau will be a hugely important focus city for the company.
