Lufthansa Cargo has announced the expansion of its freight operations to China by adding new destinations.

The latest announcement will see the addition of Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX) to its network.

Furthermore, the freight company has already recently begun operations in Zhengzhou (CGO), with flights thrice weekly to meet demand.

These operations are made possible thanks to their fleet of long-haul Boeing 777 Freighters, which have opened the doors for adding new locations.

The Chinese market has seen persistent growth, and Lufthansa Group says expanding its network will enable it to meet this demand. Most notably, the growth revolves around service between the Chinese and European markets.

Thanks to the addition of the two locations in China, Lufthansa Cargo now offers service to 19 destinations and, therefore, 47 weekly frequencies between Europe and Asia.

All these services play an essential role in the direct and fast transportation of goods to those who require them. Moreover, the ability to have 47 weekly frequencies gives a greater level of flexibility for optimising transportation to critical customers’ requirements.

Lufthansa Cargo executives further stated that deploying additional flights to China will allow the company to grow in a vital region.

The Group that Lufthansa Cargo calls home must continue to find ways to optimise the network of all flying companies.
