
ITA Airways has secured the delivery of its first Airbus A330neo as part of its continued growth plans and acquisition of fuel-efficient aircraft.
A delivery ceremony was held in Toulouse to mark the occasion that the airline secured the jet on a lease from Air Lease Corporation, a leading aircraft leasing company supplying aircraft to airlines globally.
The A330neo will begin flying on long-haul routes for ITA Airways next month, with the airline remaining an all-Airbus operator featuring A220s, A320s, A330-200s and A350-900s. Therefore, adding the Airbus A330neo to the equation, they’ll boost their efficiency further and add capacity to important future routes.
ITA Airways was birthed following the collapse of Alitalia in 2021, with it launching the day after. This week while welcoming the A330neo, it has also seen an agreement reached with Lufthansa that the German carrier acquires a minority 41% stake in the airline with a vision to make it a majority with time.
The first A330-900 is registered as EH-HJN and comes equipped with 30 business class seats, 24 in premium economy and lastly 237 economy seats. Eventually, there’ll also be a further 16 per Cirium fleet data delivered.
