It’s been an exciting week for Etihad Airways with the launch of four routes in a handful of days.
The airline is continuing its record-breaking year of growth with four inaugural services across three days to strengthen connectivity from Abu Dhabi.
On November 1, 2025, the airline launched thrice-weekly service to Tunis in a bid to strengthen its North African network and support what is seen as growing demand between the UAE and Tunisia.
Next, on November 2 2025, the airline launched service to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, for the first time, in a move that increases trade and tourism ties between Abu Dhabi and the capital.
On November 3, 2025, four weekly flights to Chiang Mai, a popular travel destination in northern Thailand, were launched, increasing the business’s presence in the region.
On the same day, the final route commencement, Etihad Airways finally reconnected Abu Dhabi to Hong Kong with five flights a week. Hong Kong, the premier business and leisure market in Asia, and this launch coincides with the relaunch of a codeshare agreement with Hong Kong Airlines.

Each of these destinations adds its own character to our network – from Tunis’s heritage to Hanoi’s vibrancy, Chiang Mai’s charm and Hong Kong’s global energy. Together, they expand options for our guests while bringing more visitors to discover Abu Dhabi – one of the world’s most exciting cities. As we continue to deliver almost half of the UAE’s aviation growth this year, our focus remains on connecting more people, cultures, and opportunities through our home in Abu Dhabi.

A Busy Year For Etihad Airways
The launch of four more flights across the Etihad Airways network in just a matter of days is the epitome of what 2025 has represented for the company, a record-breaking year.
That record-breaking year was highlighted by the airline confirming that it had reached a milestone of 300 scheduled passenger flights every day, a 20% year-over-year increase.
The airline has seen its capacity rise 25% year-on-year, driven by fleet growth and the launch of many new routes this year alone.
Etihad Airways has already announced 31 destinations for 2025, marking its intent to continue expanding, and new additions such as the A321LR will be key to adding more destinations to the airline’s network.

Now, that very network reaches almost 90 destinations, and flight increases to Europe have been significant, notably a 35% jump during the summer season compared to the year before.
Additionally, the airline has grown its fleet to 115 planes, up from 96 in September 2024, making 2024 one of the busiest years for fleet growth in the company’s history.
