Etihad Airways has broken another record as it continues growing its operations.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier has confirmed it has reached the landmark milestone of 300 scheduled passenger flights per day, a 20% year-on-year increase.
Etihad Airways’ milestone now puts the airline among the fastest-growing in the world within the full-service collective of companies.
In September 2025, Etihad Airways also carried 1.9 million passengers, which represented yet another substantial increase year over year, that figure being a 21% jump and load factor was also maintained at 89%.
In the first nine months, 16.1 million passengers have been carried, an 18% increase, showing that the new services Etihad Airways has been launching, alongside other capacity increases to existing markets, have been well calculated and are performing well.
All the growth taking place has been made possible by Zayed International Airport (ZIA), which has all the required infrastructure and is modern enough to support the airlines’ operations, which continue to expand.

The airline prides itself on this being its home, with the ability to process 45 million passengers a year across 65 gates, and technology enabling kerb-to-gate in 12 minutes for passengers. This is complemented by lounges and additional facilities, making it an industry leader.
Growth At Etihad Airways
Reaching 300 scheduled passenger flights every day is no easy feat, and Etihad Airways has placed a lot of emphasis on growth not just in recent years but in recent months.
The airline has seen its capacity rise by 25% year-on-year, driven by fleet growth and numerous new routes launched this year alone.
Etihad Airways has already announced 31 destinations for 2025, marking its intent to continue expanding, and new additions such as the A321LR will be key to enabling more destinations to join the airline’s network.
Now, that very network reaches almost 90 destinations, and flight increases to Europe have been notable, with a 35% jump to Europe during the summer season compared to the year before.

Additionally, the airline has grown its fleet to 115 planes, up from 96 in September 2024, making it one of the busiest years for fleet growth in the company’s history.
While the A321LR arrival marked a new fleet type and fresh opportunities, the airline has also secured additional Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 jets.
While the A380 continues to play an integral role in the airline’s business and with the planned return of more units in the coming years, it’s expected to be an important few years for the airline as it moves towards achieving Journey 2030 ambitions.
Growth is even evident from an employment standpoint; the airline has sought to hire more employees in recent times, with 1,700 joining the workforce in the first half of 2025 alone, including pilots and cabin crew.
