Emirates plans to increase flights to Ghana, adding capacity to Kotoka International Airport (ACC) from its hub, Dubai International Airport (DXB).
The changes will increase the airline’s current daily operation to 10 flights a week from early September, before increasing from 10 flights a week to 11 from 1 November 2026.
The expansion responds to growing demand for connectivity between West Africa and the Middle East and strengthens the schedule using the Boeing 777-300ER, according to AeroRoutes schedule data
Emirates Adds Three Weekly Flights to Accra
According to the schedule data, the airline has designated the new thrice-weekly flights as EK789/790, departing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 September 2026, with the existing EK787/788 service remaining daily and unchanged.
From 1 September 2026, EK789 will depart Dubai at 0330 and arrive in Accra at 0835 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Returning, EK790 is scheduled to depart Accra at 1105 on the Boeing 777-300ER, reaching Dubai at 2240 the same day; all times are local.
The established daily service will remain unchanged, with EK787 departing Dubai at 0725 and arriving in Accra at 1230. Meanwhile, EK788 departs Accra at 1915 and arrives back in Dubai at 0650 the following day.

As a result, these additional rotations will increase the route from seven flights a week to ten; however, from 1 November 2026, Emirates will add an 11th flight every week, bringing significantly more seats between the two cities and to Ghana.
Dubai Connectivity to Improve
Accra is the only destination Emirates serves in Ghana and, as such, is important for the airline and the wider African network, feeding traffic not just to Dubai but also across the Gulf, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America.
The additional flights are scheduled to depart Dubai at 0330, providing an important early-morning arrival in Ghana, and the 1105 return from Ghana enables a late-evening arrival in Dubai.
The publicised increase was initially planned for July 2026; however, the revised schedule now extends through the end of the year and gives Accra the additional seats it needs, without changing the aircraft type.
Now Emirates will offer the city 11 flights a week heading into the peak Northern Winter 2026/27 season, not just strengthening its own Dubai-to-West Africa connections but, importantly, the onward connections through its hub for passenger and freight travel.
