China Airlines has finalised a firm order for the Airbus A350-1000, following the initial framework of the deal, which was placed in December 2024.
The purchase will include 10 high-capacity A350-1000 models, which are intended to elevate the airline’s long-haul network with an immediate impact across high-profile routes.
China Airlines sees the introduction of its A350-1000 as pivotal to its long-term fleet and network development. It emphasises continuing to serve popular locations worldwide but with an efficient solution.
Once in service, China Airlines expects these A350-1000s to serve North American cities and Europe primarily.
Meanwhile, the debut of the high-capacity model will hardly shock China Airlines, who have had the great pleasure of getting well acquainted with the A350-900, the other passenger variant in the series.
China Airlines has 15 Airbus A350-900s to its name, averaging 7.6 years old, and they are among the future of the airline business. Now, the -1000 model will also play a fundamental role.

Our investment in the A350-1000 supports our international growth strategy and reflects our commitment to improving the travel experience for our passengers. We are confident that the A350-1000, with its superior range, fuel efficiency and comfort, will play a key role in transforming our long-haul operations.
Kao Shing-Hwang, Chairman of China Airlines
The A350 family has now accumulated over a thousand orders, and many more customers are interested in enhancing their commitment to the type or becoming new customers.
Airbus says the China Airlines deal is important. The carrier has become one of the most important A350 operators in a short space of time, and the A350-1000 shows exactly the direction the airline wants to take moving forward.
