Akasa Air has announced a deal with Boeing further to boost its future fleet at the 2023 Paris Airshow.
The agreement includes the addition of four 737-8s which will join an already substantial backlog the new Indian carrier has to its name.
Akasa Air isis is looking towards meeting additional demand by expanding rapidly to new routes and getting new aircraft in.
As the world’s fastest growing airline, we are excited to add four more Boeing 737-8 airplanes into our fleet, taking our initial order of 72 aircraft up to 76 jets which will be delivered over the next four years. In addition to supporting our rapid domestic expansion, these airplanes allow us to take full advantage of the category leading 737-8 aircraft with its unparalleled range, as we prepare our foray into international routes.

The backlog of orders now for Akasa Air sits at 76 total jets and comprises the 737-8 and 737-8-200, known as the high-capacity variant of the -8. There are 23 and 53 on order that’ll transform the fleet and put Akasa Air up as a driving force in the sector.
The airline already flies the 737-8, which has been the backbone since it launched operations. The -8s are, according to the company, perfect for their long-term vision with outstanding efficiency and flexibility to deploy it on a host of missions on their domestic network.
