Lufthansa has adjusted its Airbus A380 operation across the Northern Summer 2026 schedule between Munich and Denver.
Now, the airline will operate service once daily from 1 July 2026 through 27 September 2026. This change pushed back the initial one-daily A380 flight from the originally published 9 June 2026 timeframe.
For Lufthansa, as flagged by aeroroutes.com, this is not the first revision the German flag carrier has made. Initially, the aircraft was expected to fly daily to Denver until 24 October 2026, but this was pushed forward to the final days of September.
For Lufthansa, the changes remain part of the airline’s efforts to build the best A380 schedule, leveraging the aircraft’s high-capacity capabilities across its network.
LH840 will operate daily between Munich and Denver, departing at 1105 and arriving at 1345, on the above dates. LH481 departs Denver at 1615 and arrives in Munich the next day at 1000.
Lufthansa A380 Northern Summer 2026 Schedule
With Lufthansa having amended its A380 operations across the Northern Summer 2026 schedule, it now has a clearer view of how the aircraft will be utilised.
The world’s largest passenger plane will primarily be seen on services to the United States, with daily seasonal services and other permanent changes to the network to meet strong demand from Europe through to the United States.

Flights will be offered throughout the summer schedule from Munich on all Airbus A380 services, with daily operations to Boston, Delhi, Los Angeles, and Washington Dulles.
However, other daily services will be offered with the Airbus A380, including to Denver, on the adjusted service between 1 July 2026 and 27 September 2026.
Additionally, Munich to San Francisco will see the Airbus A380 deployed three times a week, with Mumbai, the last location, welcoming the jet daily from 1 July 2026, marking a new city for the airdraft to complement Delhi flights and significantly increase seat capacity between Germany and India.
The Importance Of The A380 For Lufthansa
Lufthansa’s Airbus A380 utilisation across the Northern Summer 2026 schedule presents a pivotal opportunity for the flag carrier to deploy higher capacity to several key international cities from its Munich hub.
The aircraft, which was initially permanently retired by the German carrier, now serves as a key pillar in mitigating ongoing aircraft delivery delays, whether driven by supply chain issues or certification delays.

Daily A380 services to Boston, Los Angeles, and, soon, Denver, among other locations such as Delhi, allow the airline to meet seasonal demand with a larger aircraft and to see its role each summer increase.
For an aircraft once considered without a future in this airline’s operations, its return has been unexpected and a resounding success, underscoring the A380’s integral role in boosting capacity across key markets during a period where new aircraft continue to be delayed.
