Ryanair has announced another expansion to its route network, with Bristol being the central focus of the latest development.
Bristol To See New Routes And More
The major European budget carrier has announced that Bristol will see 25 routes for the upcoming 2023/24 winter schedule.
Among the 25 routes are two new ones, with Porto and Venice being announced. Ryanair says the newly announced services are ideal for getting some winter sun and having a weekend city getaway.
Ryanair will base five aircraft in Bristol, which is an increase thanks to one additional aircraft. This represents a 500 million dollar investment and will help support over 1,700 local jobs.
Ryanair says this includes 30 new high-paid pilots and cabin crews among the jobs.
Bristol is becoming an essential location for Ryanair as they target growing traffic to 2.1 million passengers annually.
Ryanair’s Reliance On The United Kingdom
Away from Bristol, Ryanair has been announcing many upgrades to its route network in preparation for the upcoming winter schedule.
This included growth from Manchester and Birmingham. Ultimately, Ryanair will operate 440 routes and carry 52 million passengers annually to and from the U.K.
As part of its reliance on the United Kingdom, it has 107 aircraft based in the region, representing a 10.7 billion dollar investment. The staggering commitment supports over 37,000 jobs.
