Qatar Airways has announced a huge expansion of its operations to the United States and South America.
However, the expansion by the Doha-based carrier comes with a catch: a total of 18 additional routes are now accessible through enhanced codeshare partnerships.
Qatar Airways says that it has expanded its codeshare relationship with the International Airlines Group (IAG) and carriers that call this Group home to make this possible.
The airline has strengthened its relationship with Aer Lingus and LEVEL, specifically, to enhance connectivity between the Middle East, the Americas, and Europe, offering customers more choice.
Qatar’s codeshare agreement with Aer Lingus, launched in 2024, has enabled the airline to add its code to flights departing from Dublin Airport (DUB) and travelling to 11 cities in the United States.
Markets being served, thanks to Qatar and Aer Lingus, range from Boston, Bradley International in Connecticut, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Newark, Orlando, Philadelphia, and soon, Las Vegas.
We believe in offering passengers broader and greater choices to travel to their preferred destinations. Together with our International Airlines Group partners Aer Lingus and LEVEL complementing our existing partnerships, Qatar Airways is further setting a new standard for passenger convenience and global connectivity with 18 additional routes to the U.S. and South America.

However, now, the airline is looking to re-introduce its agreement with LEVEL, which would enhance customer connectivity opportunities from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN).

Now, Qatar Airways will share its code on LEVEL flights, which operate to Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, and soon to be Santiago as well.
With this announcement and strategic decisions driven by the airline, its service can now be seen across over 170 destinations with codeshare partnerships, enabling even better flying opportunities.
Qatar Airways Pushes For Collaboration
Measures such as enhancing the airline’s codeshare relations can bring many benefits to Qatar Airways, but this is not the only move that has been made.
The airline has, over recent years, launched a broader strategy to expand its global influence, not just through the introduction of new services, but also through the enhancement of relationships with other international airlines.
Network expansion has been made possible through the acquisition of additional aircraft, a trend that’ll continue moving forward. However, where its aircraft cannot reach, the airline looks to strategise and work with existing carriers.

Investments in Virgin Australia have given the airline greater access to the Australian domestic market, as well as increased its ability to operate long-haul flights from its home base to the country, something that was previously rejected before this stake investment.
Additionally, Qatar Airways is seeking to invest in other markets around the world to acquire stakes in companies, thereby increasing its chances of controlling specific markets and leveraging existing and prospective demand to its advantage, with the ability to influence services and market share.
Ultimately, on a more grounded level, the airline seeks to offer codeshare agreements to its customers with numerous global partners, facilitated by its membership in the oneworld alliance and its strong.
