Philippine Airlines has announced it'll launch thrice weekly flights between Manila and Seattle in October with its Boeing 777-300ER.

Philippine Airlines has announced plans to boost its network towards the United States, with nonstop flights between Manila and Seattle slated to launch.

The carrier says service will commence on 2 October 2024. Philippine Airlines is also set to become the first carrier to link the U.S. Pacific Northwest region with direct flights to the Philippines.

With almost one million Americans visiting the Philippines in 2023, the airline highlights this as incredibly encouraging. Additionally, the U.S. has become the second largest source of tourists to the country and is a lucrative market to expand into.

In Washington and Oregon, there are reportedly more than 240,000 Filipino Americans who call these states home. Following this new service announcement and subsequent launch, the airline would like to tap into this market and help visiting friends and family.

Philippine Airlines says the service will initially operate thrice weekly, departing every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The departure is scheduled from Terminal 1 in Manila, with wheels up for 2240. Meanwhile, a departure from Seattle Tacoma International is expected at 2340.

The airline believes these departure times are convenient and allow for maximum travel time throughout the day from other ports to reach either Manila or Seattle to make these flights.

Onward connectivity within the United States is highlighted, with the likes of Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas, and Washington D.C. all within reach. This stretches to nearby ports as well, such as Portland. Seattle, known for being a port city, thus comes with significant connections.

Additionally, the airline says that those travelling towards Manila will also have onward connectivity options to nearby cities, whether through the domestic or regional international network. Locations such as Bangkok, Hong Kong, Cebu, and Kuala Lumpur were all mentioned as prospective destinations, with more going unnamed.

Philippine Airlines will use the Boeing 777-300ER for these flights, offering customers an exciting experience with Business Class equipped with full-leaf flat seats.
