Lufthansa Group has announced the significant expansion of its route network as the winter schedule approaches.
SWISS is the first focus of the winter schedule expansion. From October 28, the carrier will fly daily between Berlin Brandenburg and Geneva.
Berlin was a core focus of Lufthansa Group in 2024, and the airline group has made several noteworthy changes to its flights to/from the German city to enhance connectivity.
Lufthansa Group states that it has seen a pretty visible recovery from the pandemic and, more importantly, growth that has doubled that of pre-COVID levels.

Eurowings will also offer nonstop service between Berlin and Dubai, a sizeable route that will return with daily flights in October 2024. The move to daily service represents an increase from the four flights previously offered.
To help support this latest route movement, an additional aircraft will now need to be placed at Berlin Brandenburg from Eurowings. Seven aircraft will be stationed at the German airport for the winter schedule.
Jeddah is also being added to the Eurowings network, with thrice-weekly flights originating from Berlin Brandenburg.
While Lufthansa Group has announced substantial capacity increases from Berlin across the winter schedule, it isn’t stopping there. The Group has announced there’s plans to increase flying as well in 2025.
Lufthansa Group airlines operate some 500 flights per week in Berlin, and this, combined with 27% of all flights operated by the Group, helps cement its place as the market leader.
