Hi Fly has announced it is expanding its fleet by adding two Airbus A330-200s.
Two Airbus A330s Join The Fleet
Registered as 9H-HFJ and 9H-HFK, Hi Fly says the additions will further strengthen its capabilities.
The mission is to remain the go-to provider for those needing extra capacity or aircraft cover.
Hi Fly says the newest A330-200s to join the fleet have 269 seats. At the same time, the cabins are identical.
These cabins feature a two-class layout with 18 Business Class seats and 251 economy class seats.
The Business Class cabin features a double seat with 78-inch legroom and a seat that reclines into a fully flat bed. It also features motorised headrests, backrests, legrests, and seatpans. Hi Fly adds that the class offers further benefits, too.
Meanwhile, Economy Class is what you come to know and expect. Hi Fly says it offers a 32-inch seat pitch.
The History Of The Two Airbus A330s
As mentioned, the two A330-200s acquired are now registered as 9H-HFJ and 9H-HFK, but what is their history in the industry?
9H-HFJ started life at Kingfisher Airlines, delivered in August 2008; however, it was stored very quickly.
DAE Capital acquired the aircraft in July of 2013 and has had the type in storage at various locations for years.
However, one of the more notable operators was Turkish Airlines, which flew the aircraft in December 2015 and painted it in Star Alliance colours.
Meanwhile, 9H-HFK had a similar life, including an initial stint with Kingfisher Airlines. It later flew with Turkish Airlines for some time in the mid-2010s.
Analysing The Hi Fly Fleet
Hi Fly has 8 in-service aircraft, according to the latest data from planespotters.net.
By active units, the company’s most crucial fleet type is the A330 series, now bolstered by two additional units.
The fleet includes A330-200s and a single A330-300, with average ages of 18 and 11.8 years, respectively.
