Finnair is gearing up for a mammoth 2025 by announcing several changes to its route network for the northern summer schedule.
As part of the focus, Finnair says it’ll look to offer more flights to cities across the United States and Asia.
Finnair Makes Changes To The United States
Some of the first changes towards the United States included flying to four key cities nationwide to meet the additional demand.
The carrier says increasing capacity will benefit customers based in the United States and improve connectivity worldwide.
Next summer, Finnair will fly daily to Chicago, and Dallas’ weekly flights will increase to 11, a staggering five more than what was offered for the 2024 summer schedule.
Furthermore, Finnair will also increase its flights to Seattle and Los Angeles, with two additional weekly frequencies each.
While the focus rests on the Finnair expansion, flying into markets such as Chicago and Dallas will allow greater onward connectivity, thanks to its key partner, American Airlines, which utilizes these locations as hubs.
Increased flying towards Seattle and Los Angeles on the country’s West Coast will enable better connectivity to markets such as Hawaii and more regional locations across the West Coast through American Airlines and Alaska Airlines in the future.

Finnair Expands To Asia
Increased flying will be present East towards the United States and the West, with Asia of focus for the North Summer 2025 schedule.
Daily flights will be offered to Osaka, which is essential as the location will host the World Expo 2025. Meanwhile, one additional flight will be added to Nagoya next year, which only resumed in the most recent summer. In total, four flights a week will be offered.
Finnair highlights these two locations as fantastic gateways for onward connectivity across Japan, whether by rail or other means of transport, including areas such as Kyoto, thanks to high-speed rail.
The airline’s focus isn’t just on Japan. It will also add one weekly flight to Shanghai, China, for four weekly flights across the 2025 summer schedule.
