An Etihad Airways Airbus A380-800 in Toronto

Etihad Airways has launched nonstop Airbus A380 service between Abu Dhabi and Toronto, Canada.

The switch to the Airbus A380 now means that Toronto welcomes 31% more capacity than its previously offered flights.

Additionally, the usage of the A380 to Canada helps celebrate the 20th anniversary of serving the country.

The upgraded service now offers what Etihad Airways describes as unparalleled luxury, featuring the flagship Airbus A380 product.

Etihad has invested heavily in ensuring that its A380 is state-of-the-art from an interior standpoint, with First Apartments, The Residence and other classes as well.

We are proud to introduce the A380 and offer guests flying between Abu Dhabi and Canada an extraordinary new travel experience with Etihad. Toronto has been a cornerstone of our North American network since 2005, when we became the first airline from the Gulf region to operate flights to Canada. The introduction of our flagship aircraft on this route reflects our deep commitment to the Canadian market.

With visible demand between the two locations, particularly highlighted by leisure travel, most notably through friends and relatives visiting in Canada, as a result, the need to increase capacity has been evident.

However, Etihad Airways also recognises that some of its customers may not see their journey originate in Abu Dhabi and thus offers the additional capacity that the A380 provides for those coming from other locations East of the UAE.

Inside The Etihad Airways A380

The Airbus A380 at Etihad Airways features 486 seats spread across four cabin classes.

The Residence is a private three-room suite that features a living room, bedroom, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower.

Next, the airline has committed to nine fully enclosed suites, known as First Apartments, each of which comes with an 80-inch lie-flat bed and a separate ottoman seat.

Business Studio features lie-flat seats with direct aisle access, as well as the option to visit The Lobby, a serviced lounge.

Etihad Airways also offers Economy Smart seats, which feature 405 seats, 68 of which come with extra legroom for passengers.
