Etihad Airways Adds News Routes

Etihad Airways will add new routes and boost its flying schedule this winter to capture demand.

The airline has revealed its intent to expand the network to make Abu Dhabi an even more desirable location to visit or be a stopover.

Etihad Airways says Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram will launch in January 2024 from Abu Dhabi as part of its commitment to the Indian subcontinent.

Milan, Munich, Rome, Phuket, Islamabad, Chennai, Kochi and Madrid will also see an increase in frequencies to offer travellers more choices for either their travels to these destinations or generally for connections.

Meanwhile, Cairo will see an additional five weekly flights, making the operations triple daily from January 1st.

Colombo will see seven direct flights per week, with three flights being announced effective from December 1st and four from January 1st of 2024.

The Maldives will also see an additional seven weekly flights from December onwards.

Ultimately, there’s a lot of change on the Etihad Airways network expected as they continue to recover from the pandemic and find ways to boost flying into cities globally and meet the available demand.

The airline also continues to return Airbus A380s to service, albeit at the moment only serving London Heathrow but highlighting the staggering demand levels to justify bringing back the world’s largest passenger plane.

  1. How about connecting with CJB in South India. Several thousands of expatriates from this region work in gulf countries and several thousands work & live in USA and Europe. Abu Dhabi can act as a good gateway.
