Emirates Boosts Sydney Flights

Emirates has announced plans to boost its Australian presence by November, explicitly focusing on Sydney.

The Dubai-based airline will officially upgrade its Sydney operation to feature only Airbus A380s. That means the world’s largest passenger plane will operate all three daily flights and 21 flights weekly.

As a result of the increase in aircraft, Sydney will see an additional 2,000 seats per week beginning from the 4th of November, 2023.

Currently, on the EK416 and 417 service, Emirates deploys the 777-300ER with Boeing. However, the A380 service will see the three class 489 seater jets deployed to boost capacity.

The boost in flights to Sydney overarches the commitment to Australia, with 63 weekly services offered to the country from its hub in Dubai. Therefore, 56,000 weekly seats to and from its four significant ports within Australia. Melbourne and Sydney are the only two cities with three daily flights. Brisbane follows with a double daily service.

Since the global pandemic for Emirates, the A380 has returned in sheer numbers, and the carrier continues to say it excels as a fantastic option for long-term growth in markets that require capacity.
