Delta has begun service to Brisbane Airport in Queensland, Australia, as part of its expansion into the land down under and to complement its Sydney service.
The flights will operate seasonally and thrice weekly, using Delta’s new flagship product, the A350-900.
Furthermore, thanks to the carrier’s addition to the Brisbane to Los Angeles market, the seats will increase by 56%. Demand has always been high, and Delta is the latest player to join the network.
Delta also recognises the importance of the connection between the two cities and operates its special LA28 Olympic livery. The symbolic nature of using this livery is that once the 2028 Olympics conclude in Los Angeles, the next location will be Brisbane in 2032.
Operating as DL93, the aircraft arrived at 0718 and can seat 306 passengers. The high-capacity plane was set to benefit the seasonal demand.
We have invested significantly to make Delta’s LAX terminal the most modern, easy-to-navigate gateway airport for Australia-U.S. travel, and we look forward to welcoming customers to a travel experience that is friendly and efficient on the ground and in the air.

Delta also knows it has a strong advantage in funnelling passengers from Australian ports, including Brisbane, to other destinations across the United States with its expansive domestic and regional network.
Four thousand daily flights to 280 destinations across six continents make up an incredible network, and its connectivity within the United States cannot be understated.
As mentioned, Brisbane becomes the second destination to receive this U.S. airline, while Sydney gets year-round service. The airport says Delta’s move to serve the location speaks volumes about Brisbane’s prominence as a global city.
Thanks to the addition of Delta, Brisbane offers 31 flights per week from North America by five different airlines from four of the most important hubs in this region.
The airport says that this represents 135% of pre-COVID recovery, showing the strong bounceback and the present growth.
