Condor has announced signing a reciprocal codeshare partnership with the leading Middle East carrier, Emirates.

The codeshare agreement will commence in October 2024; however, it is still subject to regulatory approval. Once launched, it should offer substantial benefits for travellers.

Condor says that as part of the partnership, Emirates customers will be offered connectivity on Condor flights via Germany to several leading destinations. The airline highlights warm-weather destinations popular for holidaying, with Mallorca, the Canary Islands, and the Caribbean all featured.

Meanwhile, some Emirates flights will be equipped with the Condor tag, which will be added to the service from Dubai to some leading locations worldwide. Emirates’ focus areas are the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and the Indian subcontinent.

The agreement is generally perceived as strengthening the airline’s connection following Condor’s planned service launch between Berlin and Dubai in October 2024.

Furthermore, the agreement deepened a partnership signed in November 2023 that saw the two airlines enter into a reciprocal interline agreement. As part of this arrangement, the airlines looked to improve connectivity across 70 routes operated in major ports worldwide on a single consistent ticket fare. The ticket fare would also extend to elements such as the baggage policies.

Condor knows that Emirates is an airline for the global stage, and deepening their relationship will be important to activate Condor’s greater potential worldwide. Starting in October, the two airlines are looking to offer seamless and greater levels of connectivity to make travel easier for their customer base.

The agreement represents another important one for Emirates, which is continuing to expand its codeshare agreements with major airlines. The airline’s most recent financial results highlighted codeshare arrangements and airline relationships as a huge focus across the next 12 months.

As a result, the airline has continued building on its portfolio of airlines it codeshares or has partnerships with over the last few months. Emirates sees such relationships as beneficial for all parties, from the business to the customer base, and believes they should be a long-term focus.
