Cathay Pacific Announces Chicago Flights

Cathay Pacific Airbus A350-1000 arriving into Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific is continuing to rebuild its international network with the announcement it’ll return to Chicago in the United States.

Returning to Chicago has been a long time in the making for the Hong Kong-based airline.

Before the emergence of the pandemic, Cathay Pacific routinely served Chicago with their 777-300ER-operated daily service.

Initially, the service will operate three times per week utilising the Airbus A350-1000. Cathay says flights will depart from Hong Kong on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1230 before arriving in Chicago at 1430.

After a handful of hours on the ground, the A350 will jet back off bound for Hong Kong at 2045.

While a fantastic network resumption, it has highlighted the damage done to the Cathay network over recent years. It is working towards improving its capacity levels, hoping to see 70% of its pre-pandemic network resumed by the end of 2023.

The Chicago flight from Hong Kong is slated to commence on October 3rd.
