American Airlines is preparing to offer its largest-ever schedule to Italy in 2025 as it attempts to meet growing demand across the country.
The largest-ever schedule will be just in time for the Summer 2025 season, with increases occurring in May 2025 to ensure maximum traction.
First, building upon an existing Naples service launched earlier in 2024, American Airlines sees strong demand to warrant another city to serve the Italian location.
From May 6, 2025, American Airlines will offer daily service between Chicago (ORD) and Naples (NAP) using its Boeing 787 Dreamliner. As a result, no other U.S. airline will offer more seats at the location, enabling great connectivity to popular destinations.
American Airlines further adds that it’ll offer its first-ever service from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Venice (VCE) starting June 5, 2025, with this daily flight also operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
This new service to Venice will complement an existing flight that commences in Philadelphia (PHL). Now, one-stop connections from Venice will be even more accessible to customers.
Rome will also be one of the airline’s focus cities with the announcement that service previously announced between Miami (MIA) and Rome (FCO) will be pushed a month forward for commencement on June 5, 2025, with daily flights operated by the 777-200.
Meanwhile, and the last part of the announcement, a second daily flight will commence between Philadelphia (PHL) and Rome (FCO) from June 5, 2025, with a mix of Boeing 787 variants from the 787-8 to 787-9 to be utilised.
As Italy continues to remain popular for summertime travel, American is making it easier than ever for customers to shop, dine or unwind in their favorite destinations. Whether reveling in the history of Rome or relaxing on a beach on the Mediterranean, American’s network will offer more ways for customers to plan their perfect itinerary.

American Airlines To Work With Partners
The general ability to serve these locations with enhanced flights and facilitate onward travel with core global partners is emphasized as well.
American Airlines, a major international airline and part of the oneworld alliance, has been able to foster relationships with many different airlines across its time. This means travel with partner airlines can occur from the United States to Italy and throughout Europe.
The carrier highlights the more than 175 destinations available alongside its commitment to increasing flying to broader Europe. Flights to Edinburgh (EDI), Athens (ATH), and Milan (MXP) have all been previously announced.
