Air France has officially inaugurated service between Paris Charles de Gaulle and the Philippines with nonstop flights to Manila.
The carrier will offer thrice-weekly operations between Paris and Manila with a pre-departure ceremony attracting significant politicians and members of the airline Group.
The first flight operated on 8 December 2024, with Air France operating its state-of-the-art A350-900 between the two popular locations.
Service also operated as AF208 with a departure from Paris at 2330 on December 7 before being airborne for some 13 hours and arriving the following day in Manila at 1926, all times local to their respective city in question and time zone.
Air France-KLM are the only European carriers to offer daily service, with Air France’s originating in their home of Paris and KLM service operating from Amsterdam Schiphol.
While being broadcast as a vital launch, this is technically a resumption as Air France previously offered service two decades ago. Funnily enough, the service cancellation some twenty years ago was driven by the French flag carrier and KLM coming together.
However, to aid network expansion efforts, the airline is resuming the important service with three flights a week on its A350-900s, equipped with 34 business class seats, 24 in premium economy and the back cabin 266 in standard economy.
