Air Canada has announced a significant expansion of its schedule, focusing on Latin America for the 25/26 winter season.
With 13 new routes expected and a 16% increase in overall capacity, the flag-carrier confirms this is its most significant network expansion in company history to this part of the world.
Increased demand for cities in Latin America has recently pushed the airline to evolve its scheduling to meet this demand and capture more market share.
Air Canada confirms that, in total, it’ll have 55 daily flights with more than 80,000 weekly seats down south to warm-weather destinations, which will be available for Canadians during some of the colder months.
With all the seasonal route changes, Toronto and Montreal are expected to welcome the bulk of the new route network adjustments. However, Vancouver will also see additional capacity for a popular holiday destination.
The New Air Canada Routes
Air Canada first says that, beginning December 4, 2025, and operating twice weekly until March 28, 2026, service will be offered between Toronto (YYZ) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG) as AC84/85.
Next, the carrier has confirmed that, operating as AC936/937, it’ll operate a once-weekly flight between Toronto (YYZ) and Cartagena (CTG)from December 20, 2025, through April 11, 2026.
Montreal will experience its first new route, with thrice weekly service between Montreal (YUL) and Santiago (SCL) from December 17, 2025, through February 28, 2026, as AC52/53.
Air Canada also confirms that it will strengthen Toronto flights from Montreal (YUL). Once weekly, Saturday flights will be offered to Cartagena (CTG) from December 20, 2025, through April 11, 2026.
While these are the new routes to be operated by the flag carrier, service enhancements across the network, including additional flying from three Canadian cities, will also occur.
