Qantas continues its mission to expand its network by acquiring more aircraft. The airline welcomes additional E190s from Alliance Airlines as part of a wet lease.
The Qantas Group will acquire four additional E190s bringing the fleet to over 20 to boost its regional and domestic operations across the country and meet ongoing demand increases.
The airline on the larger side has secured the wet-lease of two Airbus A330s from oneworld partner Finnair. Additionally, it continues to welcome the A380 back into the skies and is taking delivery of multiple new Boeing 787s over the next few months to boost its international network.
Per Cirium fleet data, Alliance Airlines has 25 E190s in active service and 5 in storage. These E190s average some 15 years, with the oldest being 17 years.
Additionally it has the Fokker 100 and Fokker 70s. However, the ages of these Fokker aircraft are far more significant, with the averages coming in at a staggering 30 years on the Fokker 100 and 28 on the Fokker 70.
