Air Canada will reduce flights to India across the Northern Winter 2026/27 season from Montreal (YUL).
The Canadian flag-carrier, under recent schedule changes flagged by Aeroroutes, intends to cut its Montreal to Delhi (DEL) route from five flights a week down to four with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The change applies from 1 November 2026 through 26 March 2027, and marks the transition to the Northern Summer 2026 season, when schedules change again to meet demand across the warmer months.
A change for the winter months by Air Canada
Air Canada’s revised timetable will see AC50 departing Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) at 2205 and arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) at 2245 the following day, all times local.
Returning as AC51, the flight is scheduled to depart Delhi at 0030 the following morning and arrive back in Montreal at 0610, all times local. An early morning arrival back in Montreal is optimal for connectivity across the Air Canada network, whether regionally, domestically or into the United States.
Air Canada isn’t changing the aircraft used between the two cities and still intends to deploy its Boeing 787-9. This jet was previously used during the thrice-weekly summer operation, which has been suspended for the Northern Summer 2026 window.
Air Canada also changes winter services
As part of the frequency change on Montreal-Delhi flights, there’s also a planned shift in the seasonal route’s end date, which is still scheduled to resume on 25 October 2026 but will end sooner.
The route will conclude, as cited in recent schedule filings, on 26 March 2027, and while this is still within the Northern Summer 2027 schedule, it is one month earlier than previously planned. Initially, the carrier had intended to schedule three flights a week from 27 March through 29 April.

Air Canada’s India flights, despite strong demand, have faced persistent shifts across 2026 as the company responds to rising operating costs driven by fuel spikes and market volatility.
Previously, Air Canada suspended the route for the Northern Summer 2026 programme, citing those same commercial reasons while prioritising the Delhi connectivity from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) instead. Now, with the return from Montreal, capacity has shifted, and the window during which the flight will operate has narrowed as well.
