STARLUX will, for the first time, operate its Airbus A350-1000 on long-haul service to the United States, with the jet entering service from July 2026.
Under a schedule change flagged by aeroroutes.com, the Taiwanese carrier will deploy the aircraft on its Taipei Taoyuan to Phoenix flight from 2 July 2026 across the four weekly flights, replacing the A350-900.
A Big Moment For STARLUX
For STARLUX, a shift to the Airbus A350-1000 on service to Phoenix isn’t just a capacity increase to the state, but, more than ever, a shift in how it’ll serve the United States and long-haul markets moving forward.
The A350-1000 has been emphasized since the first order as a central strategy for long-term growth, and Phoenix is now the first city to welcome the aircraft after a lengthy period during which it operated flights across Asia, including to Japan.
The upgrade also allows the airline to position its newest and now largest plane on the network to the US, and a move that’ll be felt around the United States at existing and future destinations in due course as the network takes shape.
With the A350-1000 also being deployed to Phoenix, this means an existing A350-900 can be freed up to serve the network. A key backbone of the transpacific network that has carried the weight of the network established now will see its role ease as STARLUX scales specific services.

If STARLUX wants to continue offering more capacity and a modern cabin product, and ensure its premium standards are felt at certain gateways in the United States, then jets like the A350-1000 being rolled out to additional cities will be important.
Future Plans For The A350-1000
With STARLUX debuting the A350-1000 on long-haul service to the United States, the rollout will only continue to expand, in line with the airline’s plan.
STARLUX will begin serving Europe this year, with Prague earmarked as the first destination. Beyond this, in 2027, the airline has already outlined plans to establish routes to Barcelona and Zurich as well, with extra-long-range aircraft and capacity being important to making these services feasible.
Closer to Phoenix, the airline has long planned to fly beyond the Western United States; those additional airports, such as New York, have been in focus for years, but now that jets like the A350-1000 complement existing units, they have finally become feasible.
As the first Taiwanese airline to operate the A350-1000, with more deliveries on the way, the strategy is simple: the high-capacity model will become the backbone, targeting high-yielding business and leisure destinations with a premium cabin.
