A new prospective Boeing order is in the works for aircraft from Belavia, according to their chief executive, Ihar Charhinets.
While a deal has yet to be signed, the airline says it wants to increase its fleet significantly in the coming years and, as a result, is in discussions with Boeing to make this happen.
With Boeing being considered, this doesn’t mean they’re the only pillar; the airline is also considering Russian-made aircraft, though complications naturally arise with certification and other support.
That doesn’t mean things are any easier on Boeing’s end, however. The airline cites ongoing tensions with the West over trade deals in the last year as another factor to consider when considering new contracts.
Nevertheless, with positive contract negotiations ongoing, it’s a step in the right direction toward eventually securing a contract to overhaul the airline’s fleet in the 2030s.
The Belavia Fleet So Far With Some Boeing Jets
Based on fleet data, Belavia has 13 aircraft, spread across various types.
The airline’s strongest reliance comes in the form of the Boeing 737 family, where it flies three aircraft variants: 737-300, its oldest by age at 28.4 years.
Next, the airline’s strongest variant, based on active units, is the 737-800, with five aircraft; this is finally complemented by a lone 737 MAX 8, part of the next-generation fleet.

The airline also flies 1 Embraer ERJ-175, complemented by three active ERJ-195s, underscoring a strong commitment to regional flying with the Brazilian planemaker.
Just three Airbus A330s are in the airline’s name; these are the only widebody aircraft in the fleet, and they are the A330-200s registered as EW-587PD, EW-588PD, and EW-589PD. The latter is currently listed as parked, with all three scheduled for delivery in August 2024.
