Qatar Airways is slashing flights across its global network, with a 7.9% reduction in service from its Doha hub.
For the week of 10-16 May 2026, as flagged by aeroroutes.com, the total number of one-way passenger services departing from Doha declined further.
Several of the airline’s high-profile international routes out of Doha have already seen service reductions announced, whether temporary or permanent, and the airline is now making further adjustments.
Qatar Airways Route Reductions and Suspensions
Several niche and core markets served by Qatar Airways will see targeted reductions in service.
Regionally, the airlines’ Doha to Alula service will drop from 3 flights a week to 2 on the Airbus A320, with the reduction occurring between 13 April 2026 and 25 June 2026, representing a trimming of leisure capacity to this destination.
Dubai Aleppo, meanwhile, is being suspended entirely from 2 February 2026 through 3 June 2026, removing the Syrian city from the network during the spring period.
Further East and across the UK, the airlkines Doha to London Heathrow takes one of the bigger hits with between 13 April 2026 and June 13 2026 weekly frequencies being cut from a previously planned 66 to just 48, this is a further reduction on the 59 that was outlined in earlier schedules.

The sizeable reduction is further emphasised by Qatar Airways’ Doha to Manchester service from 20 April 2026 through 7 June 2026, with flights reduced from 24 to 20 weekly. From 14 June, 2206 this jumps back up to 12 weekly as the additional QR25/26 service is being discontinued.
Qatar Airways in the Middle East will also reduce flights to Tehran Imam Khomeini from 7 April 2026, from 14 to 12 per week; this is a permanent reduction in service.
Lastly, in Europe, from 29 March 2026, four weekly flights to Venice Marco Polo will continue, rather than the initially planned daily service. From 1 May 2026, capacity on the route will drop, with the A330-200 being replaced by the A320.
San Francisco Cuts Show More Change
Qatar Airways’ Q2 changes come amid planned capacity reductions on the Doha-San Francisco route for the Northern Summer 2026 schedule.
The airline initially aimed to operate daily service between the two cities, but this was reduced to 5 flights a week, a cut of two services.
The changes were also expected to run from 29 March 2026 through 24 October 2026, before a recent update made further reductions effective in July.

On 6 July 2026, the Airbus A350-1000 service between Doha and San Fransico will drop to 4 flights a week, with the network reshuffling consistent around the world as Qatar Airways adapts to evolving trends, restrictions, and more.
