Vistara has officially taken delivery of its first Airbus A321LR. The airline expects this aircraft to be pivotal to its long-term international operations and mainly aid them in future expansion.

Thanks to the long-range capabilities of the variant Vistara says it’ll also offer them excellent fuel efficiency not found in other types.

Vistara also becomes the first airline to fly the A321LR within India with the completion of delivery.

The airline has kitted its A321LRs out with 188 total seats in a three-class configuration optimised for long-range journeys with the addition of 12 business class seats that lie flat seats, in addition to both premium economy and economy class features.

Per Cirium data, the airline has 18 aircraft still on order, including 12 A320s, 4 787s and 2 A321s. At the same time, it has 53 aircraft in service. Visatara benefits from a relatively young fleet of planes, with over 90% of its aircraft being under the age of 6 years.
