Embraer has made a groundbreaking announcement, confirming it has broken ground on a new facility in the United States.
The Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) to be located at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth will be for commercial jets and saw representatives from the planemaker and partners with local officials celebrate the moment.
Expected to open in 2027, permitting no delays are encountered, this state-of-the-art facility will help elevate Embraer’s presence in the United States with its capacity to serve E-Jet customers, increasing.
The planemaker says that an increase in the U.S will equate to 53% with the investment expected to not only create 250 skilled jobs in Texas but reach a figure of US $70 million when all is said and done.
The Embraer President and CEO, Francisco Gomes Neto, said that he was honoured to be breaking ground in Fort Worth, a part of the country that not only represents innovation but also opportunity.
Today’s groundbreaking at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport marks an exciting milestone for our region. The airport continues to serve as a hub of innovation and economic opportunity, and Embraer’s expansion further strengthens Fort Worth’s position as a global leader in aviation and advanced manufacturing. This investment brings not only high-quality jobs but also highlights the strength of our business environment and the talent of our local workforce.
Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker

For the business, the new facility represents a distinct, fresh chapter in the planemaker’s journey across the United States. With the latest investment and a presence lasting almost 50 years, the business is primed for the long term to support the country for the next 50 years.
Announcement Follows Embraer Order
The news of groundbreaking on a new MRO facility for Embraer in the United States follows a sizable deal placed in September by Avelo Airlines.
The U.S carrier said it would purchase up to 100 planes with firm contracts for 50 of the popular E195-E2, alongside purchase rights for 50 should they wish to be activated at a later date, in a deal including options valued at around the $9 billion mark.
Avelo is set to become the first carrier in the United States to operate the high-capacity flagship E2 program, coming at a perfect time as part of a commitment to the country.

Across the border in Canada, the E2 has already seen adoption from the likes of Porter Airlines, with the aircraft being a game-changer for this company, and Embraer wants to expand its presence, especially in the United States.
While Embraer has had a deep connection to the U.S. for some time, many airlines have looked elsewhere when rebuilding their fleet and retiring these aircraft in favour of larger models away from the Brazilian planemaker.
Now moving forward, the planemaker will look to find ways to deepen its relationship with airlines in this country, the MRO facility as a way to show airlines that it’s committed to the location and with attractive delivery slots, it hopes this translates into more purchases.

I’d think twice before locating in the US right now, look what happened with the Hyundai -LG joint venue in Georgia. Texas is not friendly to outsiders or immigrants, it is puzzling why they choose such a hostile place to do business at a time like this.
