Embraer has arrived at the 2025 Paris Air Show with a significant deal announced for new planes.
The deal comes from SkyWest, which has placed an order for 60 aircraft, along with an additional option for 50, should they wish to be activated at a later date.
Deliveries for the aircraft, which will be for the E175s, are expected to help support a new multi-year contract that was signed for Delta.
However, SkyWest’s role in the industry doesn’t stop there, with numerous other regional operations conducted within the United States for operators ranging from American Airlines to United Airlines, and even including Alaska Airlines.
SkyWest believes that the purchases will help strengthen the partnership with Delta and develop a long-term relationship, enabling the offering of more products to passengers on a regional basis.
The order also includes options that are expected to provide the necessary fleet flexibility over the next decade and beyond for the airlines it supports.
As the largest E175 owner and operator worldwide, we’re pleased to continue growing our E175 fleet and enhance our dual-class footprint. This order enables us to advance our long-term fleet strategy and to continue to deliver the premier regional product in the industry.
Chip Childs, President and CEO of SkyWest
Embraer Has A Strong Relationship
SkyWest and Embraer have a long-standing relationship, and despite other regional aircraft being available on the market, this partnership remains too strong.
The pair have been working closely for nearly 40 years, since SkyWest first flew Embraer jets in 1986. Over the decades, that fleet has grown significantly.

Nowadays, Embraer helps power a significant part of the regional network across the United States, extending into markets throughout North America as well.
Thanks to this relationship, SkyWest is the largest operator of the E175 and will continue to find ways to renew the fleet moving forward and strengthen its connection with Embraer.
