T’way Air, a South Korean-based carrier, has been focused on developing its fleet after a successful last few years, and those plans are slated to increase.
The Korea Economy Daily reports that T’way Air will introduce the next-generation Airbus A330neo on flights worldwide, specifically choosing the -900.
The airline confirmed the plan, introducing up to five A330-900s from 2025 onwards.
Acquiring these aircraft has been possible thanks to an agreement with leading aircraft lessor Avolon. This company is known for providing solutions to requirements on short-term notice for airlines such as T’way Air.
The acquisition of the A330neo will complement the airline’s existing commitment to the A330ceo, which enables long-haul and higher-capacity flying.
Data indicates the airline has eight Airbus A330s to its name, spread across the A330-200 and A330-300, with one unit listed as parked. However, the airline’s A330 fleet has a hefty average age of 14.1 years.
Interestingly, a large portion of these A330s, especially the A330-200s, were delivered in 2024 as part of fleet growth plans, and that focus on growth is expected to continue.
While these aircraft serve a fantastic purpose for the airline, it isn’t a mystery why T’way Air may be looking towards the A330neo to help develop its fleet moving into the future.
With deliveries set to commence in 2025, the airline expects the five units to arrive over two years, with deliveries concluding in 2027, permitting no hiccups in the schedule to occur on Airbus’ part.
The A330neo will enable flying to existing and new markets. T’way is looking at various locations for eventual deployment using the next-generation A330neos.

All these locations are on the radar from markets across Europe to the United States and even Canada, with the A330neo being pitted as optimal for both medium-haul and long-haul flying from South Korea.
Despite a slow start and many periods in which the A330neo struggled to acquire orders, the programme has roared back to life and has enjoyed substantial interest in recent years with many significant orders and leasing arrangements.
