Xiamen Airlines has announced plans to begin flying to Doha in a landmark route development.
Xiamen says it’ll begin by offering a Beijing Daxing and Doha service from the 20th of October, with a Xiamen to Doha service commencing on the 31st of October.
The flights will be operated by the airline Boeing 787s, and Qatar Airways is set to codeshare with Xiamen on these services as part of a partnership announcement.
Specifically, the Beijing to Doha service will be operated by a 787-9, with the Xiamen flight served by a 787-8, which has less capacity.
Through the Beijing and Xiamen to Qatar connection, the goal will be to allow customers to feed onwards towards more of the Qatar Airways global network, which stretches far and wide, offering fantastic opportunities.
Xiamen Airlines has a fleet of 159 in-service aircraft, per Cirium, with its most significant fleet type being the 737-800 and by some margin, with 118 active jets. The next most considerable fleet type measured by units is the A321neo and 737-8, with ten each.
