
VietJet is continuing its strong financial position for the third quarter by announcing a new route expansion.
New Flights Around Asia
Cambodia, Indonesia and China will be the focal point for the new routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from December.
Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai is slated to commence from December 1, 2023, with a daily flight.
December 2, 2023, will see the launch of Ho Chi Minh City towards Dien Bien. Three flights per week will be offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
VietJet adds that from December 10, 2023, the airline will commence a Hanoi to Jakarta route that’ll operate four times weekly. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday have been selected as the days of operation.
December 15, 2023, will see the commencement of a Hanoi to Siem Reap in Cambodia service. VietJet will offer one round trip per day.
Looking Back At 2023 So Far
VietJet has enjoyed an enjoyable 2023 thus far, with the airline reporting in Q3 the completion of 36,000 flights. In addition, it transported 6.8 million passengers, representing a 10% increase over pre-pandemic figures and a 127% rise from 2022.
The Vietnamese company said that during the first nine months of the year, it carried 23.7 million international passengers—a skyrocketing of 267% higher than its 2022 performance.
Its fleet consists of 103 aircraft, this includes 18 units operated by Thai VietJet and two new aircraft that arrived on delivery. Technically, reliability has reached 99.72%, while the average seat utilisation rate is over 85%.
