Swiss has announced that from 3rd March 2023, it will resume flights to Shanghai from its hub in Zurich.
The announcement comes as the Lufthansa Group airlines continue to ramp up frequencies to China following relaxed restrictions.
The Switzerland-based airline will offer only one flight per week in March. However, by April, plans are in place to ramp that up to three times per week.
Swiss joins airlines such as British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and even Emirates, who have recently looked towards increasing Chinese frequencies to help support the region’s return.
While flights to Shanghai begin to ramp up, by the summer of 2023 Swiss says that their Zurich to Hong Kong flight will operate six times per week.
It’s a high priority for us to meet the demand that is now growing again for travel between these two major business centres and beyond. Shanghai remains one of the key points in our network in terms of both inbound and outbound travellers.
Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Chief Commercial Officer of Swiss
