Starlux has officially announced plans to launch services between Taipei Taoyuan and San Francisco from the 16th of December, 2023.
The route, which their Airbus A350-900 will operate has been a long time in the making.
Initially, the SFO connection will operate thrice a week before getting a substantial boost from March 2024, when it’ll move towards daily.
Therefore, San Francisco joins Los Angeles as the two U.S. cities the relatively new Taiwanese airline will serve. However, the presence is only scheduled to grow further.
Starlux has once again identified Seattle as a port it wishes to commence services to from sometime in 2024 with the Airbus A350. Currently, it only has three A350s in service, but the commitment to the A350 is more than present and future aircraft units, including the A350-1000, which, one day, will arrive to make such routes possible.
While Seattle remains a focus for their Western U.S. plans, the airline has already outlined ambitions to fly further with New York pitted as a destination of interest.
However, as discussed earlier this year by key executives at the airline to Reuters, its complications with deliveries of Airbus aircraft mean they’ve been unable to move ahead with these New York flights.
