
Qatar Airways has announced a significant expansion to its route network at ITB Berlin 2023. The airline says off the back of the FIFA World Cup 2022 success, and it’s excited at the prospect of growing its global brand.
At a press conference, the airline announced seven new destinations slated to launch in 2023.
These include Chittagong, Juba, Kinshasa, Lyon, Medan, Toulouse and Trabzon. The Toulouse service is getting the most media attention, with many dubbing it the Airbus flight. Following the conclusion of the dispute between Airbus and Qatar, it is good timing too.
Additionally, the airline confirmed that 11 destinations would finally see a relaunch of services for 2023. These include Beijing, Birmingham, Buenos Aries, Casablanca, Davao, Marrakesh, Nice, Osaka, Phnom Penh, Ras Al-Khaimah and Tokyo Haneda.
These new services and the commencement of previously existing ones build upon its flying network following the pandemic. Qatar Airways remained one of the few airlines that continued flying during its height and offering repatriation services across the globe.
