Qantas has announced that it’ll begin in April 2023 with a nonstop Melbourne to Jakarta service.
The flight will begin on April 16th, 2023 and be operated by the airline’s Airbus A330. The airline expects to run the service three times weekly.
The nonstop flight to Jakarta is a welcomed one to the Qantas network, and one many may not have expected. The flight compliments an existing service by Qantas to Jakarta, which originates in Sydney.
Per Cirium data, the airline offers for February 2023 28 total flights to Jakarta Soekarno Hatta International, which equates to 7,668 total seats.
Qantas says the announcement will boost the sector’s tourism and connect Indonesia with Australia. Melbourne Airport is currently on a significant spree of route announcements following China easing travel restrictions.
