Brussels Airlines is expanding its fleet of Airbus A320neos as part of its ongoing efforts to revamp its business.
A decision which was approved by the Board of Directors will see the addition of five new Airbus A320neo aircraft to the fleet in the coming years.
Thanks to the deal, the airline will increase its total number of these single-aisle next-generation jets to 13, helping to reduce its environmental footprint while finding ways to renew its business.
Brussels Airlines hopes that with further use of the A320neo, customers will experience a more cohesive journey across their day-to-day flying, and thanks to the plane’s capabilities, the business will also see improved profitability.
According to current forecasts, Brussels Airlines expects to begin taking delivery of the A320neo planes, part of this latest batch, from 2027 onwards.
Brussels Airlines has worked very hard to achieve a cost structure that allows the airline to be sustainably profitable, enabling us to reinvest in our company. The A320neo reduces our environmental footprint and offers a more pleasant experience for our passengers. We are very happy to welcome more of these state-of-the-art aircraft to our fleet.

These Airbus jets deliver up to 20% lower CO2 emissions and also feature 50% less noise when operating compared to previous models in the business.
For passengers, the positives also extend thanks to the storage space, which has been enhanced by more than 40% with larger overhead bins. This not only provides more space but also speeds up the boarding process.

Brussels Airlines only welcomed its first A320neo in November 2023; it’s therefore a relatively new aircraft in the business and has been a hit thus far.
Brussels Airlines has configured the aircraft with 180 seats; this configuration makes it ideal for short to medium-haul flying, and with a greater range than the jets it’s replacing, more route opportunities are also available.
More Than Just The A320neo
Brussels Airlines is not only committing to renewing its fleet with the A320neo, but it is also enhancing its A330 fleet to create a more harmonious passenger experience.
The long-haul fleet, which will expand to 13 from 2027, will also introduce new cabins on the intercontinental network.
Meanwhile, the airline is also committed to renovating its award-winning lounge at Brussels Airport, known as THE LOFT.
