Like ANA, Japan Airlines has announced updates to its flight schedule for the winter season leading into 2025, focusing on international and domestic markets.
The network adjustments revealed fantastic developments for London Heathrow, slated to welcome the state-of-the-art and brand-new Airbus A350-1000.
Japan Airlines says the exact start date for the fall of 2024 has not yet been decided and will be revealed in due course. Furthermore, the flight will originate from Tokyo Haneda on the JL43/44 flight number.
The A350-1000 also began flying to New York on two daily flights on August 14. Starting on August 23, it will operate daily between Tokyo Haneda and Dallas Fort Worth.
Other adjustments to the international network include an increase in flying to Melbourne Airport in Australia, where thrice weekly flights will double with 6 to be offered.
Meanwhile, the number of flights to Shanghai from Kansai and Nagoya will also increase as the airline commits to daily flights to this location. Seasonal flights, with five flights per week, will also launch between Nagoya and Taipei.
Japan Airlines will increase its flights to markets such as Guam with two additional weekly flights across the winter schedule, meaning it’ll offer daily service. Jakarta will also see two additional weekly flights compared to the summer schedule. Similarly, Bengaluru will also see the addition of two more weekly flights.
These markets, among others, are all being increased as part of Japan Airlines’ response to significant increases in demand.
Furthermore, using the Airbus A350-1000 and the Boeing 777 will enable greater capacity boosts to these locations.
Moreover, thanks to the demand for tourism in Guam, there will be more flights during the Honolulu marathon. For a short period, flights will also be upgraded to the 777 so that First Class can be included.
While JAL continues to target markets such as London Heathrow for deployment using the A350-1000, the carrier says that as more units are delivered, it will continue to roll the aircraft out to new or existing locations.
