Etihad Cargo is gearing up for an incredibly pivotal summer schedule, including 23 new weekly flights to eight new destinations.
The freight division of Etihad Airways says it’s enhancing the cargo space available for customers and partners in aircraft belly holds. The enhancement will start this month and run throughout the carrier’s summer schedule.
The summer schedule will introduce 23 passenger flights to new destinations. Furthermore, passenger flights to existing routes will increase by 77 per week, providing 100 new weekly flights to markets worldwide.
Ultimately, the substantial increase in passenger flights will enable more cargo belly space to be used as capacity and transported to demand-driven markets.
Etihad Cargo says the increase in flights will increase the amount of belly space available in locations such as Spain, Greece, France, and Turkey. Etihad highlights Malaga, Athens, Nice, Myknos, and Santorini as some of the many that’ll be boosted.
Additional flight increases to markets such as Istanbul will provide essential availability for Etihad Cargo to serve its partners more. The Middle East will also see enhanced connectivity. Etihad Airways highlights that passenger flights to Saudi Arabia have increased with additional flights to Kuwait, Bahrain, Beruit, Muscat, Doha, and Cairo.
The Indian subcontinent will also see increases in flying thanks to the overall strengthening of flights to Kolkata and Bengaluru, among others. These locations are slated to benefit from belly cargo space offered by Etihad Cargo.
Lastly, Etihad Cargo highlights the strengthening of service towards Asia with new flights to Bali, Bangkok, Colombo, Karachi, Seoul, and others, with these cities all seeing increases. Ultimately, with each increase in weekly flying, Etihad Cargo can increase the available belly space on its aircraft to ket partners.
Flights towards the United States were boosted when service commenced between Boston, with four weekly flights in March 2024. As the summer progresses and leads into the winter schedule, the airline has made it clear that it’s committed to studying new markets to enable greater levels of freight connectivity.
