Etihad Airways is again extending the presence of its A380 by sending the aircraft to Canada.
The world’s largest passenger plane will begin serving Toronto from Abu Dhabi on 24 June 2025, part of a plan to meet current strong seasonal demand.
The aircraft will depart daily from Zayed Abu Dhabi International (AUH) and Toronto Pearson International (YYZ).
EY21 will depart Abu Dhabi at 0240 and arrive in Toronto, Canada, at 0900. After spending several hours on the ground, the aircraft will depart Toronto at 1340 and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 1100 the following day, all local times.
While Etihad focuses on traffic, such as leisure, there’s also an appetite to meet summer business demand, which will increase during the peak travel season.
Etihad Airways calls the move a strategic one. They notice increased demand for travel across Canada, and by deploying their highest-capacity jet in the fleet, they can give customers more choice.
Toronto also remains popular with Etihad Airways because it provides access to other markets, such as the Indian Subcontinent or locations within Asia.

Thanks to the Abu Dhabi-based carrier’s strong network, there’s an appetite to use the A380s’ increased passenger capacity to enable more opportunities to transit through the airline’s home and head onwards to another location.
Etihad Airways Highlights The Onboard Experience
Etihad Airways knows that the feature of the award-winning, top-of-the-line product is a big part of the appeal of flying aboard its A380.
The carrier offers 68 extra legroom seats in its economy class, which provide an additional four inches of space, alongside 337 economy smart seats.
Meanwhile, the airline has placed great importance on the upper deck, with 70 business class suites. These suites also feature a Lobby with a bar lounge and bar area between the high-profile classes.
First Class is possible with the First Apartments, which feature nine private spaces and all the latest amenities that Etihad Airways would expect.
However, its Residence is what’s considered to be the pinnacle of luxury. It is the world’s only three-room suite in the sky, with a living room, bedroom, ensuite, and shower, all while flying to your destination hours away.
