Etihad Airways has announced its June traffic figures, which represent improvements in the number of passengers carried alongside growth in other areas of the business.
In June, Etihad Airways said it carried 1.5 million passengers, up around 400,000 from the 1.1 million recorded one year prior.
Meanwhile, the airline said its load factors stayed the same at 86%, which is considered an achievement because of the considerable growth across the last year. Overall load factors for the year to date in 2024 sit at 85%.
In 12 months, the airline has grown its operating fleet from 76 aircraft to 92 with the continued addition of next-generation units.
Furthermore, the airline has increased the number of destinations served on its passenger network from 66 to 76. Etihad Airways has been committed to expanding its destinations and meeting increased demand across several leading markets.
In 2024, the company has increased its flights to key markets across the United States and other global destinations. Meanwhile, the airline has made landmark announcements of upgrading the aircraft it utilises towards key markets with capacity increases offering customers greater flexibility.
8.7 million customers have flown on an Etihad Airways service in 2024 thus far, an increase from the 6.3 million in the first six months of the 2023 calendar year.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier says its operations are healthy, and for the remaining seven months of 2024, it’ll look to build on the success already enjoyed this year.
