Compass Airlines Cargo Welcomes First Boeing 747F

Surprisingly there’s a new Boeing 747 freighter operator in 2023, with Bulgarian Airline Compass Airlines Cargo acquiring its first widebody recently.

As announced on the company’s website and met with a low-pass and special arrival, the 747-400F registered as LZ-CJA touched down on the 19th of July.

The 747F was first registered and delivered to Singapore Airlines Cargo in September of 2001, where it was stored for three years in Victorville only before heading to ACT Airlines and then being leased by Saudi Arabian Airlines. Following life here, it was held once more in Istanbul before being acquired by Compass Cargo Airlines.

Compass Airlines Cargo has five aircraft to its name per planespotters.net fleet data. The other four aircraft types away from the 747F are from the 737 family, and all 737-800Fs averaging an age of 21.5 years.
