Bonza has officially completed its initial route rollout plans. As a result, they’ve subsequently taken the crown of the largest initial route rollout in Australian aviation history. The milestone was completed with the airline launching its Melbourne to Mackay service.
Bonza operates exclusively with a fleet of 737 MAX aircraft and prides itself on being there for Australia. This is achieved through a positive attitude, an Australian spirit and a great menu list that features all Australian-produced goods.
The Melbourne to Mackay service will initially be two times weekly and fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This is generally seen across the Bonza network. They’re not looking at launching daily flights but rather 2 to 4 times weekly services to markets without critical connections or low-cost options. As a result, they can ensure that each aircraft load factor is as high as possible.
This afternoon’s historic flight to Mackay from our second base in Melbourne marks the finish line for our initial rollout and the start line for Bonza earning the right to grow. Our focus now is firmly on improving our operations, earning the respect of customers and then, we will continue to add new routes and a third base to continue our mission of connecting communities across Australia.
Carly Povey, Chief Commercial Officer
The low-cost Australian carrier now flies 27 routes to 17 destinations across three states. As the fleet of 737 MAX aircraft only continues to grow, the plan is to add more destinations with time.
